About the Program
L.E.A.P. is an experiential and holistic learning program for students in grade 10 and 11. During the time they spend in the program, students complete their core curricula as well as learn through choice. Students are encouraged to choose an independent study where they learn about what interests them rather than what others want them to know. Currently, we have students learning such things as dance, American sign language, and German. They work with three teachers the entire two years allowing for more flexibility, and the chance to integrate curriculum across subject areas.
As a part of the program, students are given the chance to learn outside of the classroom. An integral part of the program is to get outside and learn by doing. Since the programs inception in September 2012, students have participated in numerous field studies that have allowed them to apply their learning in real settings.
